Alliance Against Counterfeiting & Piracy. A UK-based organization with news, legislative action reports, and info on the cost of counterfeiting.

American Intellectual Property Law Association. Information on legislative activities, publications, and amicus briefs.

ASCAP. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Resource guide, events calendar, showcases, estate planning, title registration, legislation news, and info on the ASCAP Foundation.

Arts Law. Australian community legal center for the arts. Advocacy for artists and the performing arts.

Association for the Protection of Internet Copyright. A non-profit organization. News, information on joining, a member list, and some information on copyright and fair use.

Australian Copyright CouncilAustralian copyright organization with news, a fantastic bibliography of their publications, meeting rooms and a library.

Artists Rights Society. Information on how to become a member, and some copyright information.

Campaign For Digital Rights. Seeking fair and balanced laws for the information society. They support freedom of speech online, "positive fair use rights" for copyright material, narrowing anti-circumvention laws, and honest labelling of copy-protected CDs.

Copyright Arbitration Royalty Panel. US Copyright Office's page with info on licensing, rules and regulation, and the royalty panel established in 1993.

Digital Future Coalition. Articles on digital copyright technology and legislative issues, news articles, press releases, copyright links.

Federation Against Software Theft. An organization in the United Kingdom, of software industry interests.

The Harry Fox Agency, Inc. This agency represents over 17000 music publishers in the United States. Read their Frequently Asked Questions and list of agency services, learn about mechanical licensing and music synchronization licenses, and about broadcast use of music in commercial advertising. The HFA song list is here, so that you can search for song titles licensed by HFA. Publishers may be interested in the POLI-PLUS (Publishers On-Line Inquiry System) song and license database.

Idan-Music. The Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers, in Israel. News and links.

International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition. Washington-DC based partnership working to deter piracy and counterfeiting of goods. The Hall of Shame museum is interesting to look through.

International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. London-based organization whose website offers news and articles on music piracy, artists and copyright, and the recording industry.

Indian Performing Rights Society. The Registered Copyright Society for all musical works in India.

InfringementWatch.Org. Organization for artists, developers, designers, photographers and website owners.

International Intellectual Property Alliance. A coalition formed in 1984. They concentrate on worldwide copyright piracy of music, software, and videos. Read reports about piracy losses by country, and view the latest news and press releases.

International Trademark Association. Trademark resources and information on the association, including info on publications, press releases, and a history of the organization.

Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society. Anti-piracy news, media licensing, and mechanical royalty distribution.

Motion Picture Licensing Corporation. Answers to frequently asked questions about exhibiting home videocassettes in public settings, and how to obtain a public performance license to do so. You can apply for a license online, using their form, or get an umbrella license. Some information on copyright law as it applies to videotapes is provided.

Music United for a Strong Internet Copyright. An association of recording artists, musicians, and songwriters. The association takes out ads in which famous musicians ask fans to not download free music off of P2P sites.

Music Publishers' Association. They also have a copyright search center.

Phonographic Performance Ltd. - The copyright rights/licensing society of India.

Public Knowledge - They advocate "a fair and balanced approach to copyright and technology policy."

Recording Industry Association of America. Information on legislation, piracy, technology, web licensing, and cencorship.

Respect Copyrights. An educational site sponsored by the MPAA and several movie studios. Subsections include What is Copyright, Why Should I Care, Hear From the Artists, and a section on how to legally buy or rent movies online.

Secure Digital Music Initiative. A collaboration between recording companies and technology companies "to develop an open, interoperable architecture and specification for digital music security."

SESAC. It represents songwriters and music publishers.

Software and Information Industry Association. Anti-piracy information and resources, membership information, publications, research, and international issues.

TypeRight. An organization of typeface designers and developers, striving to promote typefaces as creative, copyrightable works. Read an article on who owns fonts, view the TypeRight Petition to Congress, read the FAQ and mission statement.

World Intellectual Property Organization. Information on treaties, conventions, the Patent Cooperation Treaty, trademarks and Internet domain names.
